Biography

Sappho Stanley (they/she) is a trans, Appalachian poet, editor, & educator. They grew up in Southwest Virginia. They received their BA in English from East Tennessee State University. Currently, they are a student in the Ohio State Universityโ€™s Creative Writing MFA studying poetry. Here, they serve as Poetry & Production Editor at The Journal. They write about the trans experience & the ways that experience interacts with capitalism; their work explores t4t community, sex work, & life in Appalachia.
